I must admit that it took me a bit to get into this book. Neither Mason nor Becca clicked with me. I really can't say specifically when I got into the book. While I enjoyed the storyline I never really connected with the characters until the epilogue. Mason is a doctor who states he never deals with feelings. Something his father never talked about when growing up. Yet his anger is front and center.Becca is trying to rebuild her life and herself after a crappy relationship, but just falls right into another relationship. I don't think the characters were well developed and that might be why I didn't connect to them. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
I don't know why I was expecting a little more than what I was reading but i REALLY was. The story starts off with so much excitement, I mean the way they meet, how she just falls on top of him its exciting. I was more than excited, I was think oooh this is going to be one of those books that have you dying laughing. But no. She gives everything up so quickly. This is a good and quick book to read.
This was another fantastic novel by Rush, she has established herself as a confident author who can reel you in and fall in love with her characters. I personally enjoyed reading Doctor Next Door, I read the entire thing in 1 sitting leaving more wanting more.
Mason and Becca story was better than most. They had a real relationship. I liked the fact that they were both a little gun shy and didn't immediately want to jump into a relationship. There past have them each scars but didn't ruin their future. The book wasn't the most exciting and though provocing but a decent read.
I didn't love the book, it was just okay. I'm not 100% sure if it was the authors writing style that threw me off, or if it was just the played out storyline....whichever it was, it only got a 3 stars out of me
